“Vidalita” is recorded by the Juerga ensemble, consisting of two guitars, soprano and flute. A rather unusual cast of instruments. The only original piece by the time we started was the “Chants de L’Uruguay by Alfonso Broqua. the years after we did a lot of arrangements, like the “four Russian songs” by Igor Stravinsky, Maurice Ravel and getting new compositions by contemporary composers a.o. Atanas Ourkouzounov, Annette Kruisbrink and Pieter van der Staak. For this recording we also added oboe and violoncello for the music of Joaquin Rodrigo and Ernesto Cordero.
